About CorDees
CorDees is more than a place to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It is a place created for people — somewhere children, adults and families can feel safe, welcomed, cared for and free to be themselves. A place where people from different backgrounds can come together, train together, learn from one another and feel that they truly belong.

The Heart Behind CorDees
CorDees began with something very personal. As a father, Corey wanted to create the kind of place he would want his own sons to grow up in — somewhere they would feel safe, cared for, positively guided and free to be themselves. What began with that simple idea grew into a much bigger vision: to create a community where children, adults and families from different backgrounds could come together, train together, support one another and genuinely feel that they belong.
For more than 25 years, Corey has taught, coached and mentored children through sport and martial arts, helping hundreds of young people grow in confidence, character and self-belief. His experience includes many years as a Safeguarding Children Regional Lead Tutor and Tutor Developer for the English FA. An IBJJF-certified 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belt and former IBJJF World #1 ranked competitor, Corey is also a Jeet Kune Do Black Belt under renowned martial artist Guru Bob Breen. But for Corey, experience and achievements come with responsibility — to continue learning, to maintain high standards, and to give every person who walks through the doors of CorDees the same genuine care and respect he would want for his own family.
Meet Our Coaches
We are extremely selective about the people we entrust with teaching at CorDees. Technical knowledge and the ability to coach are only the beginning. Our coaches genuinely love to teach, to help others grow and to see people discover what they are capable of. For them, coaching is not simply a job — it is something they care deeply about.
Every CorDees coach must share our commitment to safety, respect, exceptional standards of hygiene, warmth and genuine care for every individual. But they must also understand the culture they are being trusted to nurture and protect. That understanding cannot simply be taught or written in a coaching manual. Our coaches have lived it. They are themselves CorDees students who train, learn and continue to grow alongside the people around them. Before they can help carry the CorDees culture forward, they must first have experienced it, contributed to it and truly believe in what it stands for.
Because CorDees is about much more than Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It is a place where people look after one another, where children and adults are encouraged to grow with confidence, where differences are respected, where everyone can feel safe, welcomed and valued, and where friendships and relationships grow both on and beyond the mats. Our coaches understand that when they step onto the mat to teach, they are not simply representing CorDees — they are helping to shape its future and nurture the positively growing family that makes CorDees what it is.

Tim - Kids & Youth Coach
Tim is one of the original CorDees students, having begun his BJJ journey with us at our previous academy and remaining a loyal part of the CorDees family ever since. Always eager to learn and improve, he treats everyone he meets with genuine warmth and respect — accompanied by the kind smile that has become very familiar to our children.
What first stood out about Tim was his natural desire to help others. Even while still needing guidance himself, he could often be found trying to help his training partners improve. That same instinct now comes alive when he teaches. He genuinely loves helping our children learn and grow, and you can see it in the energy he brings to every class.
The children genuinely like Tim, and that matters enormously to us. He is warm, caring and approachable, while understanding when a child also needs boundaries, discipline and a firmer voice. He has learned to balance both without losing the warmth that makes children feel comfortable around him.
Most importantly, Tim doesn't simply teach at CorDees — he is part of CorDees. He has grown within our culture, believes deeply in what we stand for and continues to learn and develop here as both a student and a coach.
He is someone I trust to help guide and care for our children — and there is no greater responsibility I could give him.

Togzhan - Kids & Youth Coach
Togzhan brings an infectious positivity to CorDees. Her smile is rarely far away, but behind it is a thoughtful, mature and deeply caring person who treats everyone around her with kindness and respect. She is humble, honest and always willing to learn — qualities that make her as valued as a student as they do as a coach.
What matters most to us is the genuine care Togzhan brings to her coaching. She has a natural ability to connect with children, who respond warmly to her kindness, positive energy and genuine interest in them. She understands that coaching at CorDees is about far more than teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — it is about creating an environment where every child feels safe, respected, encouraged and cared for, while providing the guidance, boundaries and high standards that help them grow.
Togzhan believes deeply in what CorDees stands for and brings those values onto the mat every time she teaches.
